Mileon only accesses location information when you have granted the required iOS permissions.
Motion and Activity Data
Mileon may use Motion & Fitness information from your device to help determine when you are driving.
This helps Automatic Tracking identify drives and reduce accidental trip recordings.

When you add a vehicle to Mileon, we may store:
- Vehicle brand
- Model
- Year
- Mileage
- Primary vehicle selection
- Other vehicle information you choose to provide
This information helps organize your drives, analytics, Garage, and maintenance information.

- Friend connections
- Shared drive history
- Shared driving statistics
- Live location
- Active drive status
- Drive notifications
- Sharing preferences
You control what information you share through Mileon’s Sharing settings.
Adding a friend does not automatically give that person access to your other friends.

Advertising and Measurement Information
Mileon works with Meta (Facebook) to understand how people discover the app and to measure the performance of our advertising. To support this, Mileon may share limited app activity such as app installs and account registrations with Meta.
On iOS, Mileon may also request permission to track through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you allow tracking, Mileon may share your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA) with Meta to help measure advertising. If you do not allow tracking, the advertising identifier is not shared and events are marked as opted out.
Mileon does not share your precise location, routes, trips, or friend information with Meta for advertising. Meta’s use of any information it receives is also governed by its own privacy policy.

We do not use your precise location to serve third-party advertising.
3. Background Location
Automatic Tracking is designed to work even when Mileon is not open on screen.
If you enable the required permissions, Mileon may access your location in the background to detect when a drive begins and to record the trip.
You can change or disable location permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
Disabling background location may prevent Automatic Tracking and other location-based features from working correctly.
Recording your own drives does not require you to share your live location with friends.
4. Friends and Location Sharing
Mileon gives you control over what you share with friends.
Depending on your settings, friends may be able to see:
- Your drive history
- Your driving statistics
- Your live location
- Whether you are currently driving
You can change your sharing preferences at any time.
You can also remove a friend if you no longer want to share information with that person.
5. Incognito Drives
Mileon includes an Incognito option for individual drives.
When you use Incognito, that drive remains available to you but is kept off your friends’ maps, shared drive history, and drive alerts.
This gives you additional control over which drives you choose to share.
6. Third-Party Services
Mileon uses third-party services to provide and operate certain features.
These services may include providers for:
- Authentication
- Cloud databases and storage
- Maps and location services
- Weather information
- Push notifications
- Advertising measurement and analytics
- App infrastructure
Mileon currently uses services such as Supabase, Mapbox, and Open-Meteo as part of its infrastructure, and Meta (Facebook) for advertising measurement. Apple technologies may also be used for authentication, notifications, device permissions, Live Activities, and other iOS functionality.
These providers may process information as necessary to provide their services.
Their handling of information may also be governed by their own privacy policies and legal obligations.
7. Data Storage and Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information stored by Mileon.
Information may be stored using cloud infrastructure and service providers used to operate Mileon.
No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security. We work to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, and disclosure.
8. Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Mileon, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service.
Some information may have shorter retention periods based on the feature.
For example, certain Meet-up information may be automatically removed after the Meet-up has ended.
When you delete your Mileon account, we will delete or anonymize associated personal information unless we are required to retain specific information for legal, security, fraud prevention, or other legitimate purposes.
